Buckyballs Ban is Craptastic
Buckyballs are extremely strong magnets that are marketed to adults as creative toys - kinda like Lego where your imagination determines their use. Often popular among the geekier crowd.
Well now the Consumer Product Safety Commission have gone and banned the things because some kids are sometimes eating the dang things and getting hurt. If you check out the Buckyballs site today you’ll see their notice about the numerous safety warnings they have on these things and ALL marketing material points to adult usage and not for kids.
Next we’ll need to ban all household cleaners, dice, nails and screws, and pills too because if kids eat those they’ll get hurt or die - and Buckyballs haven’t killed anybody. Basically, anything small enough to go in a kids mouth is no longer allowed to be sold because we can’t trust parent’s to, y’know… parent. It’s not like kids small enough to not understand the warnings are buying these things themselves.
I feel bad for any kids who have gotten hurt, but blame the parents not the product.
