CEO Douchebaggery

So the CEO of the company I work at was “let go” a couple months ago. Essentially, while he was CEO the company went to crap. So he was gone but continued to be a “consultant”. He kept all his company paid for stuff and his access and we even bought him more computer equipment for his “home office”. He kept bringing the company paid for laptop into the office for work to be done on it (and we had to make sure his iTunes and Quicken info didn’t get lost - you know… “work stuff”). You see all those quotes? Yeah. This was all pretty much polite speak for CEO’s and other TLA executive’s club for their special privileges.

Anyways, he got a new job at a new company as a new CEO today. Essentially, he was fired from here for doing a crappy job causing lots of people to be laid off and salary/raises capped (not his of course) - but another company gave him a job… and we paid for all his home computer tech while he “applied” for that job. This included access to all company data too and the company he’s going to is in the same service market. Evidently or HR department and his old executive assistant was still helping him with stuff too.

Do you think we’ll be getting any of that equipment back? Nope. Do you think as an IT professional, if I was let go for doing such a bad job that the entire company suffered, I’d be given a bunch of equipment? Nope. Do you I think this is douchie and I’m more than happy to say “I told you so” to people who said he was a good guy? Yup.

Just some findings from around the web. Nothing too unreal or strange; well maybe a little strange.
