App is for iOS and Android. Seems like a really good idea for those who live in winter wonderlands.

No SOPA For Chrome Informs You If A Company... →
Since GoDaddy is supporting SOPA (and have lost a LOT of customers because of it), this extension will indicate other SOPA supporters as you visit their pages. There is also SOPA Lens which lets you equate what websites would be like under SOPA (it’s a big heavy handed but not inacurate).

Spotify and Facebook
I was about to sign up for Spotify but I couldn’t get the first page of the signup to start. I fired up IE in case it was an issue and found exactly what the problem was - my “Facebook Disconnect” extension in Chrome was stopping the signup from showing up. This was very confusing at first until I realized and found that Spotify uses ONLY Facebook to handle account management and...

Cell phone bans don't work →
What a shock. People who text, continue to text, even though there’s a ban on texting.
They already don’t think they have any trouble driving while texting so obviously the ban isn’t for them, right?
RIAA and Homeland Security Caught Downloading... →

Tap vs Bottle →
I was recently talking to a friend and found out she only drinks bottled water. When I mentioned some of the problems with bottled water and the benefits of tap water she was completely shocked (and didn’t really believe me - especially about tap water being generally safer to drink than bottled water). Also, check out the movie Tapped. It’s a bit heavy handed and a few years old but...

My Occupy LA Arrest, by Patrick Meighan →
An interesting personal retelling. NOT what the news says happened. This is a first hand account of what happened and if you refute the authenticity of this then you are must challenge the authenticity of all the things you see or hear on the internet or TV. If you are going to challenge information, challenge it all.

Christ, It Works for Everything →
Evidently, there is a theory that you can replace the end of any cartoon with “Christ, what an asshole.” as the punchline and it will work…. it really kinda does.

the understatement: Pick a Kindle, Any Kindle! →
understatementblog:
Four years ago Amazon introduced the original Kindle. Two years ago, there were just two models: the Kindle 2 and the large screen Kindle DX. After this week’s announcements, Amazon is now selling 14 different models under the Kindle brand.
The current Kindle lineup varies on no fewer than 11…
Nice chart for helping you pick out a Kindle.

Google Remembers Your Old Passwords →
Not in a bad way though… In a good way. It makes it possible for Google to tell you that your password was changed recently which will let you know if your account was hacked … or your brain is faulty.
