There are many shady ways to get out of your Mobile contract without incurring that nasty penalty fee. Claiming to be dead was always my favorite suggestion.

His main reason for switching was to get the new iPhone, but other good reasons would be for dissatisfaction with current service, or you’re moving and the new location has better coverage with a different carrier.
In general, you can normally switch your contract to someone else without incurring any fees. The nice thing is, this person can be anyone. They finish paying out the shorter term contract, the provider keeps an established cash flow, and you get to switch without fees. Everyone is happy! You can even still have ported numbers as well.
